Second-hand Jura coffee machines in Melbourne: private sale or rebuilt
Short answer: if you are looking for a second-hand Jura in Melbourne you have two real options. A private sale is cheaper on the day but comes with unknown history, original wear parts and no warranty. A workshop-rebuilt machine costs more, with the wear parts already replaced. We rebuild used Juras in Point Cook and sell them with a 12-month warranty on the rebuilt internals.
- Our refurbished Juras start at $449 (ENA Micro A1) and go to $2,649 (GIGA X7) at the time of writing. The E8 is $1,049 and the S8 is $1,495.
- Private listings usually sit only a few hundred dollars below a rebuilt machine, before any service the machine needs.
- Every machine we sell is used and shows wear. You get photos of the actual unit, marks included, and a short video before dispatch.
- Free pickup from Point Cook, or $50 insured delivery with signature, metro 2–5 business days.
What "second-hand Jura" means when you search in Melbourne
Search for a second-hand Jura in Melbourne and you will find three kinds of seller: private owners on Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree, resellers who switch a machine on, see it works and list it, and workshops that open the machine up and rebuild it first. The coffee is the same on day one. What differs is what has been done to the inside.
The parts that age in a Jura are the seals, the O-rings, the brew unit, the grinder brushes and the steam assembly. They wear with time and use, and a private seller usually cannot tell you the state of any of them. That is the gap you are paying for, or saving, depending on which way you buy.
Private sale or rebuilt: what the price difference buys
| Private second-hand sale | Rebuilt by Chameleon Coffee | |
|---|---|---|
| Price on the day | Lower, usually by a few hundred dollars | Higher, with the work already done |
| Wear parts | Original | Every seal and O-ring renewed |
| Brew unit | As found | Replaced |
| History | Whatever the seller tells you | Stripped, tested and recorded in the workshop |
| Testing | Your few minutes at pickup | Tested with real coffee before sign-off |
| Warranty | None | 12 months on the rebuilt internals |
| Consumer law | Does not apply to a private sale | Applies to a sale by a business |
What a rebuild includes
- Brew unit replaced and every seal and O-ring renewed.
- Steam assembly completely refitted with new seals.
- Pumps resealed and pressure tested, replaced only if they are not performing.
- Sensors tested for correct resistance and replaced if out; ceramic valve pressure tested and replaced if it does not hold.
- Grinder recalibrated and brushes renewed, with the grinder replaced if extraction is still not right.
- Boilers descaled and flushed, water circuit stripped of debris, the whole system flushed, and the machine cleaned and vacuumed out.

Popular second-hand Jura models and what they cost
| Model | Our price at time of writing | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|
| Jura E8 | $1,049 | Most households; the model we sell most |
| Jura S8 | $1,495 | Milk-drink households wanting more control |
| Jura Z8 | $1,549 | A discontinued flagship at a used price |
| Jura Z10 | $2,549 | Hot and cold brew buyers |
Prices change, so treat the product page as the source of truth. The full refurbished Jura collection lists every model in stock. If you are not sure which one fits, the 60-second Jura quiz narrows it down.
The honest downsides of buying a rebuilt machine
- It is not new. These are used machines and they show wear. We photograph the actual unit, marks included, and send a short video before dispatch, so you see what you are buying.
- It costs more than a private listing. If you are happy to test a machine yourself and budget for a service, a private sale can be cheaper.
- The warranty has limits. It covers the rebuilt internals, not the external milk frother, drip tray, tank or covers.
- Declined claims cost you. If a claim is declined, you pay inspection, freight and repair. That is usually a machine that has not been cleaned or descaled.
- Change of mind has a cost. Within 14 days you pay return freight, the original delivery is not refunded, and a restocking fee of up to 15% can apply.
- You buy from photos and video. There is no showroom, though you can collect from Point Cook.

Have an old machine to move on?
Any Jura, Breville or DeLonghi automatic, working or not, takes $200 off a refurbished Jura. Most of our stock comes from trade-ins. The details, and how it compares with selling on Marketplace, are in trade-in vs selling privately.

Frequently asked questions
Where can I buy a second-hand Jura in Melbourne?
Privately on Facebook Marketplace or Gumtree, from resellers, or from a workshop that rebuilds them first. We rebuild and sell used Juras from our Point Cook workshop, with free pickup or insured delivery.
Is a second-hand Jura worth buying?
Often yes, because Juras are built to be serviced and parts are available. The risk is the wear parts you cannot see, which is why the service history or a rebuild matters.
How much is a second-hand Jura in Melbourne?
Private prices vary by model and condition. Our rebuilt machines run from $449 to $2,649 at the time of writing, and private listings usually sit only a few hundred dollars below a rebuilt one.
Do second-hand Juras come with a warranty?
Private sales do not. Ours come with 12 months on the rebuilt internals, excluding the external milk frother and externals such as the drip tray, tank and covers.
Can I trade in my old coffee machine?
Yes. Any Jura, Breville or DeLonghi automatic, working or not, gives $200 off a refurbished Jura. One trade-in per purchase, and it cannot be combined with other offers.
