Jura WE8 review: the office Jura for 20–50 cups a day
Short answer: the WE8 is the E8’s office-grade sibling – the same pulsed extraction and one-touch milk in a body built for continuous duty, with a 3-litre tank, a 500g hopper and a grounds container sized for 20–50 cups a day. It is the machine we put into most Melbourne offices of 10–30 people, because it does a day without a refill, needs no training and cleans its own milk system. Refurbished from our workshop it comes with a rebuilt brew unit and a 12-month warranty, and bought outright it costs a fraction of a rental contract. Stock comes and goes; call for availability.
- About 3-litre tank, 500g bean hopper and a large grounds container – roughly twice the E8’s capacity, so one refill covers a working day for a 20–30 person office.
- Pulse Extraction Process, Aroma G3 grinder, one-touch milk with automatic rinse; up to 12 or 16 specialities depending on generation.
- Built for office duty: heavier-rated pump and thermoblock, and a warranty that covers business use – home models usually exclude it.
- Refurbished with brew unit replaced and every seal renewed; 12-month warranty; $50 freight or free Melbourne pickup; delivered and set up for offices.
Why the WE8 exists
An E8 in a 25-person office makes good coffee and wears out early: the tank empties by ten, the grounds bin fills by lunch, and the components are rated for a household. Jura’s WE8 takes the same core and scales the consumables – tank, hopper, grounds – and the duty cycle to an office day. It is the entry point to Jura’s professional range and the machine most small offices actually need, sitting between the E8 and the X8.
What it does well
A day without refilling
The 3-litre tank and 500g hopper are the whole point. In a 20-person office making 30 cups a day, someone fills it in the morning and empties the grounds at the end of the day, and that is the maintenance. Add a water filter and descaling largely disappears.
One-touch for everyone
Flat white, cappuccino, latte macchiato, espresso and long black at one press, for the managing director and the courier alike. The milk system rinses itself after each drink, which is what keeps a shared machine hygienic without a roster.
Quiet and quick
The grinder is quiet enough for an open-plan office, and the machine recovers fast between drinks.
Serviceable
Like every Jura, the brew unit, pump, grinder, valves and seals are replaceable, which is how a WE8 that has done five years in one office can be rebuilt for another five.
What it does not do
- Two drinks at once, or two beans – that is the GIGA 5 or the office GIGA X range.
- Cold brew or a touchscreen. Buttons and a display, which offices prefer anyway.
- Run a 60-person site. Above about 50 cups a day the X8 or GIGA X7 has the capacity and can be plumbed.
- Look new. Ours are used office machines and show it; we send photos of the exact unit before it ships.
WE8 vs the alternatives
| Against | Where the WE8 wins | Where the other wins |
|---|---|---|
| Jura E8 | Twice the capacity, office duty cycle, warranty for business use | E8 is cheaper and fine up to 10 people – E8 review |
| Jura X8 | Smaller footprint, lower price | X8 does 50–100 cups a day and plumbs in |
| Jura GIGA 5 | Simpler, cheaper, office-rated consumables | GIGA 5 makes two drinks at once with two grinders |
| Rented office machine | Owned outright from day one, no tied beans, no contract | Rental bundles servicing on the supplier’s schedule |
Buying a refurbished WE8
Brew unit replaced, every seal and O-ring renewed, steam assembly refitted, pump resealed and pressure tested, sensors and ceramic valve tested, grinder recalibrated with new brushes, boiler descaled and the water circuit flushed, then run with real coffee before sign-off. Twelve-month warranty on those internals with freight both ways on accepted claims. For offices we deliver, set up, fit the filter and give the office manager a ten-minute run-through – office coffee machines Melbourne. Rental for the same class of machine runs $150–400 a month on 36–60 month terms; the maths is not close.
Who should buy the WE8
Offices, clinics, salons and showrooms of roughly 10–30 people; accounting and law practices; anyone replacing a home machine that is struggling with office volume. Below ten people, an E8; above 50 cups a day, an X8 or GIGA X.

Frequently asked questions
How many cups a day can a Jura WE8 make?
It is built for 20–50 cups a day, with a 3-litre tank and 500g hopper meaning about one refill a day in a 20–30 person office.
Is the Jura WE8 good for an office?
Yes – it is the office-grade version of the E8, with office consumable capacity, a duty cycle for continuous use and one-touch milk that rinses itself.
What is the difference between the Jura E8 and WE8?
Same extraction and milk; the WE8 has roughly twice the tank, hopper and grounds capacity, office-rated components and a warranty that covers business use.
Can the WE8 be plumbed in?
No – it is tank-fed. The X8 and GIGA X models take a mains water connection.
Is it better to buy or rent a WE8?
Buy. A refurbished WE8 bought outright costs a fraction of a 36–60 month rental and is yours from day one.
